The roots of this seed inspired the blog itself. As an ancient grain, “farro” harkens to a time when life was slower and cooking was sacred. With the hyper-convenience of modern life, many of us can only operate a microwave. Enjoying a home cooked meal is now a luxury. We at Farro aim to remedy that; to weave our food origins back into everyday life.
Our editorial scope is simple. By contextualizing each post with simple ingredient explanations and fun history facts, we hope to inspire you to create your own unique dishes. While our recipes can incorporate industrial food, we recommend sourcing locally when at all possible. Seasonal produce and free-range meats always yield the best flavor. Most of all, we believe they contribute to a healthier ecosystem and a more connected community.

When you grow older, it's physics, yo. Time & space force people apart. We have to actively stay in touch we each other as we grow..if we want to stay close. I love my family, I really does. Here are my kins and I doing an impromptu photoshoot for my parents. Many blessings to Bruce, Christina, & Lil Hiu.

Strangely and conveniently and even coincidentally..but mostly conveniently, a super rare event was to happen in our country of America. The home of the Brave. The land of the Free. So my brother, cousin and I decided to grab a car and make the 9 hour drive to Nashville, Tennessee. Talk about nerds! So what delight it was to reach Nashville, and meet other fellow stargazers (nerds) from all over the world. It was a beautiful convergence of people…a beautiful alignment of heavenly bodies...a celestial tango. This, ladies and gentlemen, was the Great American Eclipse.

Growing up, my parents owned a liquor store. They worked 6 days a week, 12 hours a day, for 22 years. Sunday was there only day off. They'd do massive cleaning, errand running, grocery shopping, etc. But also on this day my dad would have his family and friends over at the house. Sometimes we'd have family visiting from near and far (those were some of the best Sundays). Sometimes we'd invite our friends, too. Yeah, so this is one of those Sundays.
